Happy New Year! From all of us to you all of you!
Tuition is processed via Square on the 2nd day of each month.

It’s a new year and a few new things to remember!

Classes continue year-round, making advancements throughout the year as each gymnast masters the needed skills at each level.
We will do a formal evaluation in April  (as we do every year) and send home the report for parents to view.
We continue to chart progress throughout the year for each student as well.
We will make changes as requested as well from one class to another as long as space is available.
Discontinuing requires a 30-day email notice given.

Coming in February – Class and Individual pictures with Tim McConnell!
Tim McConnell will be in the gym to photograph all our gymnasts – both individually and as a class/group.
Pictures are taken during regular class times – and generally take 8-10 minutes out of each class.
Email letters with more details will be sent ASAP.

For all weather-related closings we follow the Waukee Schools when possible, HOWEVER, sometimes the best choice must take into account current weather issues.  If travel is prohibited, and safety is an issue, we will cancel. If early weather issues are no longer a factor by 3:00, we may remain open!  Either way we will email notices of closing to all current families, post the closing on the home page of the website, as well as post to Facebook and Instagram. We will offer make-up opportunities for those families missing class as well.

Happy Holidays to all!

Make-ups for holiday closures? We do not offer make-ups due to holidays.
Over the course of the year, most months will have 4 lessons. We base our fees on a 4-week month. However, occasionally your gymnast will have a 5-week month, which we do not charge extra for those months. Nor do we give a discount or make-up lesson for an occasional 3 lesson month due to a holiday.  

Any gymnast discontinuing lessons, must give an email 30-day notice via email. 

 Weather Policy – If winter weather strikes and travel is not advised, we will likely close. If Waukee schools CLOSE or have early dismissal due to weather, we will likely close as well. We occasionally have exceptions to these rules – Check the website – and our Facebook page for announcements. For closings – we will make final decisions by 3:00 PM, based on current conditions and travel dangers. At 3:00 PM we will post a final decision on the website front page, our FB page and I will also send emails to those on file for the day involved.  The voicemail at the gym, is not always updated in time. Check your email,  the website, and social media sites first!

Jacobs Gymnastics November Newsletter

Tuition is auto-processed on the 2nd of each month. 

Please continue to drop-off at rear entrance (east side/loading dock), no earlier than 5 minutes before the class start time. Parent/tot and Preschool classes continue to use lobby entrance (west side).
 Gymnast pick-up continues through the lobby for recreational – advanced classes.   
House Team and Xcel team continue to dismiss to the east side – loading dock.  Parents should not form a pick up line – but find a parking spot for safety.
Parents should be on time for picking up all gymnasts. 

Jacobs Gymnastics is open Monday Nov. 25 and Tuesday Nov. 26, but will be CLOSED Wednesday Nov. 27 & Thursday Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving. (Same as all area schools)
We wish all our families a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

We are not offering “make-up” lessons for this – our policy is available – click here – scroll down to the “make-up/payments” policy. Basically, over the course of the year, each month averages 4 lessons. We do not charge extra for a 5-week month, nor discount the 3-week months. We do not offer make ups for major holidays.

 GK leotards – we have a large selection of leotards, shorts, and leggings at the gym.   
Monday – Thursday 4-6:30. 

Weather related cancellations – Check our Facebook or Instagram page first to confirm, our website will also post info. We consider weather conditions, predictions, road and parking lot status, Waukee Community School status and general safety.  We do offer make-up lessons for weather cancellations. Families affected are notified via email with options.

We are seeing a lot of progress and great new skills! Thanks to the hard work of the gymnasts and coaches and support of parents! We notify parents via email when gymnasts are ready to level up!

Jacobs Gymnastics October Newsletter

Tuition will be processed on the 2nd day of October as we have fully transitioned to auto-pay. 

Please make sure your gymnast has appropriate fitting attire – a  leotard for girls – belly/back covered. No skirts attached, no pants. Lycra shorts are acceptable as well.
We do have several GK leotards available including the Olympic Replica styles!

Bare feet, hair pulled up off neck and out of eyes. No jewelry.
Boys – t-shirt/shorts. Nothing too baggy. Bare feet also.

Lobby etiquette – please supervise gymnasts and siblings in the lobby. Please mute any electronics including games. No running, flipping, throwing balls in the lobby.
Please do not bring in food and drinks to the lobby as several of our family members have food sensitivities and allergies.
All safety issues and to provide a pleasant atmosphere for all waiting. 

The coaches continue to evaluate gymnasts during class to ensure that each gymnast is in an appropriate class for their age and ability. We will advise parents of any changes that are needed. 

 “Beggar’s night” falls on  Wednesday (and Thursday for some) this year. The gym is open as different communities offer Beggar’s night at different times. We know Trick-or-treating is so much fun and we hope everyone participating has a great time! We do not offer make-ups for missing class, but we will be in the gym.   Enjoy the fun!

Welcome to the Fall Jacobs Gymnastics Session!

We are excited to be starting our21st season here at Jacobs!

Fall classes begin September 3-9!
We will be closed for Labor Day – Monday September 2.

We welcome all our new gymnasts and appreciate the support of the returning gymnasts and their families!
The first few weeks can be a little overwhelming and we appreciate everyone’s patience and enthusiasm!

Our goal is to provide a positive experience for all!

The coaches will be evaluating the gymnasts during class to ensure that each gymnast is in an appropriate class for their age and ability. We will advise parents of any changes that are needed. 

Please make sure your gymnast has appropriate fitting attire – a  leotard for girls – belly/back covered. No skirts attached, no pants. We do have a new assortment of GK leotards in the gym including some Olympic Replica Styles! $40-55. 

Lycra shorts are acceptable.  Bare feet, hair pulled up off neck and out of eyes. No jewelry.

Parking is available on both the east and west sides of the building. Please be patient as the first few weeks can be congested. You can walk your gymnast into lobby and check in at the desk. 
Please do not pull up close to the door to unload your gymnast as others are trying to safely exit!
Please do not park next to the building as well or block other businesses.

Make ups are not scheduled iin September.  Classes are full and we cannot overload them to accommodate for make-ups. Please check back in October and we should have some space to schedule make-ups again.

 Welcome to Summer!

Welcome all – we are excited to be starting our Summer Session!

Summer is a GREAT time to resume or start gymnastics classes! We see a great deal of progress occur over the summer!  Our class sizes are smaller and less overall occupancy in the gym.
Very little waiting – lots of turns!
Tuition is due the first week of each month.  Summer is a full 12 weeks – averaging 4 lessons each month!

Summer is the perfect time for gaining new skills too! The gym is air-conditioned!
We also run several clinics for all ages, levels, and specific skills! More details to come.

**Gym Closed March 11-17 for Spring Break

 
 Tuition is due the first week of each month, for the month.
We accept cash or check.
We also accept PayPal or CC processing from the form on file.

 Feb 18 – House Team Meet

Drop off and Pick-up.  We will continue to drop off in the rear (east side/loading dock lot) and pick up in the front (smaller, westside, lobby access) parking lot.
We have asked a few classes with younger gymnasts to enter and exit the lobby doors. Many of those parents stay in the lobby, so it is more convenient than walking them in the back and then parking in front. We also have hooks that can be used in the lobby for coats as well.  For older gymnasts that are getting dropped off, please continue to use the rear entrance.  If you need assistance – a receipt for cash payments or anything – please come find me in the gym at the back!

Tim McConnell will be in the gym February 19-22 to photograph all our gymnasts – individually AND a class picture during their regular class time! 
We are happy to do “sibling” pictures in addition to individuals. Please email me and let me know you’d like to do this! And make a note on the form mentioned below. 
Pictures are taken during regular class times– and take about 5 minutes out of each class. We will shoot two individual poses.
Recreational gymnasts wear their favorite leotard – hair up. 
House Team gymnasts wear your “Jacobs club” leotard.
Xcel gymnasts – wear your comp. leo! Silver/Platinum/Diamond Monday 630. Golds Tuesday 630.
We still have a regular class/practice, other than a quick picture break!
Picture proofs will be emailed to you to order.  Full guarantee! No obligation. Orders are then directly shipped to each family. 
Please read the pdf letter attached and fill out the form at the bottom – return next week for pictures.  You can also fill in the pdf and send it back to me via email. I’ll forward to Tim.  We have hard copies available at the rear entrance and lobby desk. 

Help needed! Parents, please send gymnasts in a one-piece leotard, lycra shorts are allowed, HAIR UP (or send a hair tie at least!). Water bottles and coats should be labeled! If your gymnast has ANY cold/flu/respiratory symptoms – keep them home! We expect only healthy gymnasts in the gym.  We appreciate everyone’s help and responsibility shown! Great job overall!
